Reading Romans | Grasping Grace in Great Detail

The Book of Romans was originally a letter, written to a young church in the most influential city in the world. Its writer dove into great detail about the radical nature and the everyday implications of the grace that each one of his hearers had received--and were still struggling to understand. The end result is a detailed, passionate, and rich exposition of God’s love in Christ that resonates deeply in the hearts of God’s complicated and curious people--in particular those that still find themselves in an influential urban center. It’s a book that Martin Luther called, “...the chief part of the New Testament and...truly the purest Gospel. It is worthy not only that every Christian should know it word for word, by heart, but also that he should occupy himself with it every day, as the daily bread of the soul.” In this series we will look at the major themes in Paul’s letter and examine the implications of grace that they outline, in all of it’s beautiful details. Accompanying this sermon series will be a Romans reading plan and free copies of RJ Grunewald’s book, “Reading Romans with Luther.”
